To mount my Faller scenic backdrop I cut the sky off, then cut some 1/4" plywood slightly lower than the horizon. I then glued the backdrop to the plywood so that when it is mounted it creates a bit of a 3D effect.
here the plywood is cut ready to have the paper backdrop glued on.
I used rubber glue and held the backdrop down with old CD-ROMs etc.
This was a mistake because the CDs left dark rings where the glue did not dry at the same speed and I had to replace the center panel.
Also the rubber cement tends to let the paper peel off.
