11/19/2000 Threaded rod supports
The height of the track is controlled by using 1/4" threaded rods onto which I place two nuts which I then lock together at the desired height such that a strip of wood will support the track substrate. This allows me to control the gradient and camber of the track very accurately.
To insert the threaded rods into the benchwork I drill a hole and then drive the threaded rods into the wood by locking two nuts on the end and driving it in with a power drill and hex socket!
